KNOWN-YOU SEED Moves Toward a Sustainable Future and Net Zero

As KNOWN-YOU SEED CO., LTD. nears to 60th anniversary, we are taking big steps to embrace sustainability and lead Taiwan to the global agricultural industry. In response to the worldwide pushing for net zero, Known-You Seed started the sustainability journey from 2022. With the support of Taiwan Carbon Asset Co., Ltd. (TCA), KNOWN-YOU SEED installed solar power at headquarters in 2023, allowing us to generate and use our own green energy.

In 2024, under the leadership of Chairman Wei-Ting Chen, we successfully completed a greenhouse gas inventory audit (ISO14064-1:2018) for headquarters. This was verified by Third-Party Certification-AFNOR Group, officially marking the start of KNOWN-YOU SEED’s net-zero transformation. This achievement shows KNOWN-YOU SEED’s strong commitment to sustainability and helps connect Taiwan’s agricultural industry with global standards.

Chairman Wei-Ting Chen stated, "As we approach our 60th anniversary, we see the urgent need to concern global warming and sustainability. Our international competitors have already set their sustainability goals for 2030, and as a major agricultural company in Taiwan and Asia, we must take action. By aligning with international carbon reduction efforts, we can improve our global competitiveness, increase our visibility, and fulfill our responsibility toward a sustainable future."

Besides focusing on sustainable business practices, KNOWN-YOU SEED is also promoting low-carbon tourism and green living. We have introduced TCA’s BEGIN Smart Charging Service at headquarters and leisure farm, making it easier for electric vehicle users, including visitors to the nearby Fo Guang Shan Monastery, to charge their cars. This initiative supports eco-friendly travel and provides greater convenience for tourists, further demonstrating KNOWN-YOU SEED’s commitment to both sustainability and digital transformation.

Taiwan Carbon Asset Co., Ltd. Chairman Simon Chang expressed his support, saying, "KNOWN-YOU SEED is a leading name in Taiwan’s agricultural sector, and we are proud to support its sustainability efforts. Whether it’s solar energy, sustainability consulting, digital transformation, green energy trading, carbon credits, or carbon neutrality, we will continue to assist KNOWN-YOU SEED in every step of its journey toward becoming a sustainable agriculture leader."

At today’s press conference, KNOWN-YOU SEED and TCA reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening sustainability and promoting green energy solutions. As global sustainability efforts accelerate, KNOWN-YOU SEED aims to play a key role in shaping a greener future.
