Completion ISO 14064-1 Verification of Quantify and Report Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Removals

In response to global trends and the worldwide goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, and following Taiwan's enactment of the Climate Change Response Act in 2023, Known-You Seed Co., Ltd. is taking proactive steps to align with international efforts in addressing climate change. Guided by the founder’s vision of deeply rooting in Taiwan while reaching out to the world, the company recognizes the shared responsibility of humanity in confronting climate challenges. As one of Taiwan's leading agricultural enterprises, Known-You Seed is committed to contributing meaningfully to global sustainability.

ISO 14064-1:2018 is an international standard that sets out guidelines for the quantification, monitoring, and reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. It enables organizations to assess their climate impact, develop targeted emission reduction strategies, and demonstrate environmental transparency to stakeholders.

To fulfill this commitment, Known-You Seed established a Sustainability Committee, which formed a dedicated task force to oversee the company's greenhouse gas inventory and reduction initiatives. The team conducted a comprehensive review of the company's GHG emissions over the past year, identifying emission sources, analyzing data, and formulating future reduction strategies. This effort culminated in the publication of the "Known-You Seed Co., Ltd. 2023 Greenhouse Gas Inventory Report", a document that reflects the company's concrete actions and achievements toward sustainability. Through this report, the company aims to communicate its environmental commitment to stakeholders and fulfill its responsibility in mitigating global warming.

Taking the 2023 headquarters emissions inventory as a baseline, Known-You Seed has set an ambitious goal to reduce headquarters' GHG emissions by 28% by 2030, with plans to expand these initiatives to all farms and affiliated companies over time. This milestone marks the company’s first step in contributing to the global net-zero emissions movement.

In the face of growing environmental challenges, completing ISO 14064-1 verification and obtaining an official assurance statement represents a significant demonstration of Known-You Seed’s commitment to corporate social responsibility. It also strengthens the company’s competitive edge by assuring customers, partners, and the broader community of its dedication to sustainable development. Moving forward, Known-You Seed will continue to build upon this foundation, deepening its environmental management strategies and creating greater long-term value for society and the environment.
