This supersweet hybrid is vigorous, medium early (70-80 days), high-yielding, and suitable for summer planting. The ears are uniformly well-pitted, with an average ear weight of 200-250 g. Excellent light-yellow kernels are tender, crispy, and taste almost shell-less. It ships and stores well too. Bright Jean is especially tolerant to heat, wet, and damping-off, resistant to virus, Helminthosporium maydis, and Ostrinia furnacalis. The plants are 30-40 cm higher than Honey Jean No.2 for easier harvesting of the ears. |
